Pich Piseth Summoned by Department of Anti-Technology Crime

Phnom Penh: Pich Piseth, who claims the identity of the golden-voiced Emperor Sinn Sisamouth, has been summoned by the Department of Anti-Technology Crime to appear in court for questioning regarding a case linked to social media activity at the Ministry of Interior. The Department date is scheduled for February 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., according to a summons letter issued by Major General Sok Nita, Director of the Department of Anti-Technology Crime, on January 28, 2025.

The summons instructs Piseth to provide various documents, including an identity card, family book or residence book, and other relevant materials.

The case has generated significant attention on social media, with multiple individuals claiming to be the reincarnation of the legendary Cambodian singer Sinn Sisamouth. One such claimant is Chin Kong, a 42-year-old farmer from Peam village in the Kampong Rap commune of Prey Kabbas district, Takeo province. He has publicly declared himself as the golden-voiced emperor, even displaying a banner outside his home that reads, “The House of Sinn Sisamouth, Rebirth.

Another self-proclaimed reincarnation is Pich Piseth, also known as Pich Samuth Piseth, who is 28 years old and holds a law degree from Royal University of Phnom Penh. His father works as an immigration police officer at the Ministry of Interior, and his mother is a businesswoman. The eldest of three children, Piseth works as a legal officer and singer, focusing on creating music in studios and performing in Christian churches.

A third claimant, Venerable Preak Kanthi Kong, residing at Wat Unnalom, has stated to the press that he frequently dreams of his own death and asserts that Sinn Sisamouth did not die from a knife wound, as is commonly believed, but was instead shot. He claims that the scars from this event remain on his body in this current incarnation.
